Profile
Fans of Japanese food who remember this Murray Hill address as La Maison Japonaise have a Nipponese-inspired reason to return: It’s become the new home of Shaburi, a Taiwanese chainlet that opened its first Stateside branch in 2004. The menu is devoted to two Japanese classics—sukiyaki and shabu-shabu made with luxe ingredients like lobster, kurobuta pork, and the highly esteemed matsuzaka beef. There’s a global cast to appetizers like carpaccio of sea urchin with “Italian” sauce, and king-crab seafood salad in a mustard-yogurt dressing. House sushi rolls come grilled, tempura-battered, or deep-fried.
Lunch SpecialsDaily, noon—4 p.m.; $8.50-$9.50
Happy Hour
Mon.—Fri., 5 p.m.—7:30 p.m.; half off beers, wine and sake
