Profile

As an idealized urban oasis, Bloom Flowers is a cool, expansive, and enviable showcase. Slate floors set off their trademark tight, clustered floral arrangements—dense groupings of monochromatic blossoms with stems in tight parallel visible through glass vases—set atop mahogany tables and surrounded by spice-scented candles. Although it began as an upscale flower shop, Bloom shifted its focus to home furnishings and event design in 2003, when a new owner arrived on the scene. Today, the shop’s specialists consult on terrace, garden, and landscape design, and on special events, including elegant city weddings. They also provide business clients with a steady supply of plants and arrangements, and anticipate an aggressive push into e-commerce, to supply moguls everywhere with brilliant bursts of color and luxury. That’s not to say a customer with a dinner date can’t pick up a bouquet on the fly; a cooler in the basement houses flowers imported from all over the globe, with Dutch blossoms most prevalent. Ample orchids are on hand, too, for a generous gift that will outlast cut stems.

Wedding Planner

Walk into owner Kimberly Perrone’s shop and you’ll be bowled over by her modern yet elegant combinations of traditional and exotic flowers. The arrangements are some of the chicest around (the nearby W Hotel is a regular client).
