Profile

Perhaps best known for his role in resuscitating sorry-looking tresses on the cold-blooded TLC series What Not to Wear, celebrity stylist Nick Arrojo also commands a legion of hair police at his own lively salon. Designed by award-winning architect Messana O'Rorke, the studio’s stainless steel workstations, crimson walls, and funky, ever-changing soundtrack (the owner also acts as in-house deejay) make for a modern and energetic vibe, not unlike the sassy Brit himself. After more than two decades at some of the world’s top salons (Vidal Sassoon, Wella, Bumble and Bumble), the stylist opened this studio in 2001. Nearly half of its 3,000 square feet is dedicated to a Color Studio with a "color dispensary" lab where literally any shade can be concocted. Renowned for precision razor cuts, the salon combines modern trends with easy-to-wear styles that emphasize the hair's natural texture. Arrojo's handpicked team is trained in his extensive eighteen-month education program where stylists specialize in either color or cutting, but not both. Because it's a Wella concept salon, the studio uses and sells Wella hair-care lines exclusively: Prive, System Professional, Bio Touch, and Color Preserve are considered some of the best on the market. As an added bonus, clients are offered complimentary touch-ups with Wella's makeup line, Trucco, before going on their well-coiffed ways.

Extra

Directly above the salon is Arrojo Creative, where industry classes, seminars, and photo shoots are held.

Sales
Discounts and complimentary treatments are offered regularly, and vary according to season. Clients should call the salon for details.

What's with the bad reviews? I think this place is amazing. I only come here to see Vincent and he gives the best haircut I've ever had in the city. He always understands the kind of fuss-free, simple...Read More

I recently visited NYC and had an appointment with Vincent to get my haircut and absolutely love it. I never had my hair fall into place like with his cut. I have learned that the haircut DOES make all the difference...Read More
