Profile
Central Park's second largest body of water (the Reservoir takes first place), the Lake was fashioned out of an ugly swamp. It’s a tranquil spot, with a bamboo patch, overarching bridges, and the Manhattan skyline reflecting off the water. Wander along the shore, survey the scene from Bethesda Terrace or rent a rowboat at the Loeb Boathouse.
