Forty or 45. I work in Massachusetts, 40 miles from Fenway Park.

That’s a long way home.
When they lost to the Red Sox in Game 7 [of the 2004 ALCS], that was the longest ride home of my life.

What was it like at work the next day?
Not the next day—the next six months. It took ’em a year to calm down.

Do you bring your family often?
We went to our first Yankee game two weeks ago.

What was that like?
I was sure they’d get sick of it three innings in, but they didn’t want to leave. Their bedtime is like 8 p.m., and I was like, “Guys, we gotta go.” They totally went bananas.

Did they win that argument?
No.

I brought the cowbell in 1975. I happened to play in time with the rhythm of “Let’s go Mets,” and people started to applaud along with it.

No, I just buy the ticket and walk around.

I’m from Chicago, and I sell beer there. Chicago tips the best. I’ve worked in sixteen different ballparks; my goal is to do all 30. Last year, I worked 172 games.

My wife is, like, really cool with it.
