Flavorpill’s One Step Beyond at the American Museum of Natural History
200 Central Park W., at 79th St. 212-769-5100
Among the many late-night museum parties (the Guggenheim’s Art After Dark, Cooper-Hewitt’s Summer Sessions, etc.), this event at the Natural History museum generally attracts a younger, hipper crowd. The D.J.’s are star caliber (Jazzy Jeff, A-Trak), megastars have been known to pop by for the occasional impromptu performances (Kanye!), and alcohol is available via drink tickets. Tipsy guests roam around the Hall of the Universe with access to the Big Bang Theater, Cosmic Pathway, the Willamette Meteorite, and complementary screenings of the mind-blowing planetarium shows such as the new The Search for Life: Are We Alone? This month’s event is March 28, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.; admission is $20, which will buy you free museum access on another day.
